the countdown begins

So 2 weeks from Monday, we're back to reality. Dan doesn't actually go back until Tuesday the 10th, but everyone else, including myself, begin work on the 9th. That means no more sleeping in until 8:00am every morning. No more Berry Family Fun Day each Thursday. No more having my husband home with us every day. I'm somewhat ready to get back into more of a routine, but a little frightened at the thought of being home alone with 5-6 kids every day. Collin being the oldest. Yikes! Lord give me strength!

On the bright side, next week is Dan's last week working at the Y. He is more than ready to be done with it. That means he'll have one whole week of nothing to do before school starts. Nothing but paint the shed and lay new flooring in the kitchen anyhow. :)

But I don't like to think about returning to work, or all the work that has to be done around the house. Instead, let's all think about my super cute children.

Not Me! Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

I've been following MckMama's blog for about a month now and have decided that it's time I join in the "not me" fun. So here it goes!

Today I started back to work after 10 glorious weeks of maternity leave. I loved every second that I got to spend with my boys and did not at any point secretly wish that swine flu would break out at my school prior to my return allowing me another solid week with my children. Nope. Not Me! I mean, after all, I only have 4 weeks left and then I'm done. I mean done, done! Never going back. Sure I'll miss the people I work with, but I will never look back. Getting to be a stay at home mom will be the greatest adventure ever.

Upon my return today I most definitely did not forget the names of any of my 47 students. What kind of a teacher would do that?

Only 18 days of school left, and only 14 days with students. But I am most definitely not counting!

i'm back

It's been a while, but I'm back. Life got busy with a Easter and a sick boy. Collin had a bout with rotovirus, but is finally back to normal. It was a little scary when it first hit as he vomited 20 times in a 24 hour period. The sweet boy was so exhausted that he pretty much slept all day last Wednesday.

We made it to mass Easter morning but had to skip the rest of the festivities. In any case, my kids looked adorable.

In other news, Ronan had his first bottle on the 10th.

Only 2 more weeks until I go back to work. Luckily he took to the bottle with no problems. Going back to work this time around should be much easier for 3 reasons. 1. I only have to go back for 4 weeks, 2. I don't have to go back at all next year as I'll be staying home and running a daycare, and 3. I already have a good supply of milk in the freezer so supplamenting won't be needed. (Having all that milk in the freezer makes me feel good about myself. Weird?) and 4. (did I say 3? I meant 4) The team I work with yhis year is awesome and they don't stress me out like I was last year.

back to reality

Today was my first day back at work since our amazing 2 week break for the holidays. Let me just say, after being back, I realized I did not miss it one itsy bitsy teensy weensy bit. Is that sad? Don't get me wrong, I don't hate my kiddos or school or co-workers, I just didn't miss being there. I absolutely loved being home with Collin every day. Sure there are days when he's cranky and drives me bonkers, but I would much rather deal with my own cranky kid than other people's cranky kids.
I'm counting down the days. Only somewhere between 6 and 10 weeks until Ronan gets here which gives me 8 weeks off, and less than 5 months until the end of the school year when I'll be done for good.... Yay!!!
