off with her hair!

Yesterday morning I was mad at my hair. For those of you who don't know me, I have really thick hair. And when I say really thick hair, I mean REALLY thick hair. Even after getting my hair thinned its thicker than most peoples hair.
Sounds great right? Yeah, unless you want to actually style your long hair. My hair was to the point (that it gets to every few years) when it was too heavy to stay curled, and when I did get it all curly, it was so big that it ended up in a pony tail anyhow. When I straighten it, it looks boring and it goes in a pony tail. When I'm in a hurry, it goes in a wet pony tail. Basically, my hair was always in a pony tail. What's the point of having long hair if you don't every show it off? Answer: there is no point, so off it went!
Here are some pictures of before.

My usual in a pony tail look.
And the way it looks when I leave it down (though this was after removing the pony tail).

And now.... are you ready?

I love it! This is basically what I do every year or so. I grow my hair out, get sick of it after I remember why I cut if off the last time, and then I cut it off again. Pretty sure I lost 2 pounds getting it cut last night. The pile of hair was about 6 inches high after my super awesome friend/hair dresser swept it up.

So what do you think? Does it make me look older? younger? thinner? (please say thinner!)

new hair

Okay so this was just before Christmas, but I'm a little behind.
Dylan got another hair cut, and I must say, he looks adorable.

with a little gel

Now I just have to figure out the scissor cut on my own. I'm not ready to buzz cut his hair yet. It's still so baby soft.

who's that boy?

My Dylee Bug got his hair cut for the fist time last night.
Seriously. Who is that kid? I can't believe how much it changed the way he looks!
Here are some more photos from the big event.
After lunch earlier in the day. I think he enjoyed it.
 Modeling a headband for me.
Sitting in the big chair, ready to go!

 Look at all that hair!

The finished product. Isn't he handsome?
He was just too cute this morning so I had to snap another photo.
He doesn't look like a little baby anymore. *sigh*

"oh the weather outsides delightful"

The weather the last couple of days has been b-e-a-utiful! I have enjoyed picking Collin up from daycare (yes though I'm home he is going to daycare to stay in the routine. I pick him up early though) and playing in the backyard. He loves kicking his Spiderman soccer ball around, and recently discovered that sidewalk chalk is much more fun when you use it on daddy's shed. That's what daddy gets for not having painted it yet I guess!
Ronan enjoyed chilling nearly naked in the sun.
The weather was also perfect for a hair cuts. I got my hair cut yesterday (the first time since before Thanksgiving) costing me $25, thanks to a $10 discount from my good friend Maria. Cutting my boys hair however, free! We bought some trimmers so I can cut their hair myself. Thanks to the beautiful weather I didn't have to sweep up any hair in my kitchen. Don't worry, we sat out back instead of being hillbillies on the front porch!

In other news...

I finally made my birthstone bracelet with my boys names on it.

The picture isn't very good cause I couldn't get the lighting right. It has their names and birthstones.

monday madness

Every now and then, when I'm in the mood for a good bubble bath, I simply poor in some bubbles and hop in the tub with Collin. There really isn't a time I can take a bath other than when he's already in. So tonight seemed like a perfect night for a bubble bath. The weather is yucky, my back has been achy, and above all, it's Monday. So Collin and I took a bubble bath together, and what a bubble bath it was! I decided to turn on the jets for a nice back massage, which totally freaked Collin out. The best part however was the amazing amount of bubbles the jests created. Had Dan been home I would have made him take pictures. Don't worry, there were so many bubbles in the tub that our heads were all that could be seen. Collin kept trying to sit back down, but then there would be bubbles in his face, and when he tried to wipe them off, he only put more on. We spent a good half hour in the tub laughing and throwing bubbles at one another. It was great.

In other news...

I tried my hand at cutting hair for the first time last night. I decided that it's really not worth 10-15$ to get Collin's hair cut professionally. I mean really, he hardly has any hair. So while he was in the tub last night I gave it a little snip snip. I think I did fairly well for my first time out...?
